PROBLEMS WE’VE SOLVED: Sani Pass Upgrade Sani Pass (P318) is a lifeline for trade and tourism, linking South Africa and Lesotho through one of the region’s most challenging and scenic routes.



As the only road that crosses the summit of the Drakensberg Mountain range, Sani Pass’s steep switchbacks, loose gravel, and sudden weather changes meant local communities faced dangerous journeys to access schools, healthcare, and trade routes.
